School started on Aug 28th this year. This was the first year ever that school started before Labor Day in the state of VA but I think parents were complaining because the kids didn't get out until the end of June so they sent out a parent survey last year asking our thoughts and everyone must have agreed because here we are starting early. Jack is starting 2nd grade and has Mrs. Thompson. She is our neighbor and has Jack, Alexa, and Sophie this year. This is the first year he has been in a class with them so we will see how it goes. Kaleb has Miss Berger. He was really upset that the didn't get Mrs. Opie because that was who Jack had so on orientation day he looked right at Miss Berger and told her "I didn't want you. I want Mrs. Opie." then he wouldn't even look at her. We were both nervous how the first day would go but he went in fine and had a great day. She even emailed me that evening telling me how great it was. Here's to a great year!
We met up with Sophie while walking in so we all walked to class together
