Ruby Springs Montana

Every year the Special Forces Association picks couples from all the groups to bring out to Montana and treats them to a 5 day weekend of fly fishing, shooting, and just awesomeness. We were lucky to be picked from our Unit along with another couple. I didn't know what to think. I just went on a cruise without the kids and now this! My mom stayed another month so she could be here to keep the kids so on May 25th we flew to Montana. Our cabin was amazing! When we first walked in I thought it was odd that their wasn't a kitchen but then they explained everyone would have dinner together in the dinning room. I didn't like the thought of this at first because there was one big table and we all had to eat together but it ended up being my favorite part. All the other couples were great and we all had a great time!

This was our back porch where I would read every morning.
My favorite view on the property
Our second day we went fly fishing and even had our own guide that rowed the boat and taught us how to fly fish. I got a couple but would lose them right before we pulled them on the boat.

Josh was the only one that got a fish on the boat.
We only had one injury and of course it was me. I was trying to unwind my line and one of the hooks was swinging and went right in my finger. It was so deep. Our guide told me about this technique he had heard about on how to pull the hook out without ripping the skin open because even the barbs were in my finger. He was so nervous though and didn't want to hurt me so I actually did the pulling and he was right, it didn't hurt at all. I kept on fishing another couple hours.
After fishing we went back and got a couples massage then got ready and went to the common room where they served apps and cocktails for an hour and everyone would just visit with each other.
Then we would go to dinner and the food was so good. The staff was awesome and knew everyone's names the first night!

After dinner we would all go outside and sit around the fire pit. The second night we were there we actually saw the northern nights. I am seriously so in love with Montana!

The second day we went shooting on Ted Turners ranch. They hooked us up to a trailer and pulled us while we shot prairie dags. This was a first for me. Once we got out there a ways we parked and shot different guns.

Shooting was fun but I like fishing more so when another couple was going back early to get their massage I hitched a ride and found one of the guides at the lodge and went to one of the little lakes there and went fly fishing. I caught 6 fish in an hour. Much better than the day before. :)

I feel like I keep repeating myself but this was a great trip also! Here is a pic of the whole crew!
The SFA made a mistake when they booked all the plane tickets and booked everyone an extra day but we had to be out of the lodge so we all spent the day in Bozeman. Our friend Kris and her family live there so I called her and told her we were there and she came and got us and we spent the evening with her at her house. It was so good to see her. She was one of my first friends in the singles branch in NC and lived with me when Josh and I started dating.  We laughed when she dropped us back off at the hotel because after she hugged us she said "Awww, Im so glad you guys are still together." LOL We were like did everyone expect us to fail back then LOL
Even the airport is beautiful in Montana!

Our cruise came back May 1 and Josh had 5 days of work in Miami so I stayed with him. He actually ended up having to leave for a night or two so I was all alone in the hotel.....Which I loved! Anyone that knows me knows I love hotels! I laid by the pool, read two books, went to the movies, and walked around and shopped. When Josh got back we went to the beach :) We enjoyed this trip so much!!!

I was so excited to see the boys because I did miss them but it was definitely back to reality of school and baseball. Jack was a Cub this year and moved up to coach pitch. I don't know why he even signs up for baseball though because every year it's the same thing. After two practices he says he hates it and he's never playing again LOL He had a good season though.

He's growing up so fast and looking so much older.

Kaleb's 6th Birthday Party

We had Kaleb's party at the marina on April 22nd along with Mr. Joe.  It really was the perfect party because all the kids played while all the adults danced and had a ball!

I love how Henry always enjoys the cake LOL
Mr. Joe turns 40!
