We were sad to leave California but so excited to pick up Josh in Vegas so he could ride back east with us! We spent the night playing in Vegas. The guys rode a zipline down the street then we rode the highest ferris wheel in town!
We watched the fountain at the Bellagio. When we asked the boys what they thought of Las Vegas, Jack said it was good and Kaleb said he didn't like it. When I asked him why he said "It stinks because everyone is smoking and they cuss too much."

The next day we went to the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon National Park.

We hadn't told Josh about the flag we made because the boys wanted to surprise him. They were so excited to show him and he thought it was awesome!

We stopped at 4 corners where we learned that the actual spot the 4 states meet is 2.5 miles away from the monument but all four states have accepted the monument to be the spot. Lol
In 4 states at once!
Our next stop was Mesa Verde National Park. In second grade Jack was assigned the Pueblo Indians to learn about and he had to build a home that they would have lived in so he was pretty excited to see what the real ones looked like!
Next we drove to a couple towns we've considered retiring in and check them out. It's crazy to think we're already to that point! This one is Arboles, Colorado right near the NM boarder. Josh has been looking here for a while because it's right on the Navajo Reservoir. You know we have to live close to water we can boat on! It was a beautiful spot!
We spent some time helping Sandy go through Grandma Draper's house and like father like sons they left with treasures! They thought this old typewriter was awesome and had to have this bear that Josh's Grandpa used to prop his feet up on.

We made it to Woodland Park, Colorado where we're going to stay with Annie and Drew for a few days!
Our first day we went down to the Springs and drove by our old house. We went to the BMX track that is across the street and the boys couldn't believe we used to live that close to a track
We also went to Garden of the Gods
Annie planned a BBQ for our second day and Sam, John, and the kids came! Of course it snowed and Drew had to grill in his coat but it was a great day! We love hanging out with these families!

I had forgotten how crazy the weather out west was. When we left Annie's it was beautiful! Then outside of Denver it was snowing again
We got off the highway and took back roads to Wyoming where the GPS took us on this cool gravel road for like 20 miles!
We made it to Rock Springs and spent the night at Jeramy's house then headed to Idaho the next morning. This wasn't originally planned but Sandy called us and told us Grandma Draper didn't have long to live so we decided to backtrack and go say goodbye. We loved Grandma so much. She was always joking and making us laugh and my boys will always remember her as Great Grandma Draper, the one who gave them jejellybeans!
The next few days were spent with cousins playing at Grandma and Grandpa's. They colored Easter eggs and Grandpa hid them!
Kaleb found some other treasures as well. Lol
The boys have been into hats lately so Grandpa pulled out his collection and let them pick a few to take home!
They talked Grandma into letting them bring the Micro Machines home!

7 weeks, 8,551 miles later, we're home safe and sound!

When Covid first happened The guys started riding their mountain bikes on the trail that's next to our neighborhood. The little bridge that was there hot washed away so they decided up replace it with a much stronger. Ken taught Jack how to run his Backhoe!

In 2020 when al the schools closed that included colleges too so our neighbor's son Roman, who played Lacrosse for Maryland University needed a place to workout. Josh told him to use our workout equipment in the shed anytime he wanted and he worked out every day! We really got to know him better through this time and he's such a great role model for the boys. Not only is he a great Lacrosse player and gets best athlete awards he gets awards for academics as well. Over the last couple years we've watched him play on TV but we finally got to see him play in person! We had a blast cheering on our favorite lacrosse player today! Go Terps!

My baby turned 11 today! He loved all his gifts and was especially excited that Aunt Carrie sent him cards and spoons so we can play the game she taught him when we were there.
He raced his first BMX race of the season and took 1st place! I can't wait to see what the season holds for him! We love you so much Kaleb!

Since there were BMX races Kaleb didn't get his birthday dinner so we went out the next night. He picked Texas Roadhouse this year!
Had had his final celebration with Mr Joe at the Marina over the weekend!

A few weeks ago I signed Kaleb up for a beginner BMX class that lasts 5 weeks and asked Jack if he wanted to try it too. He decided he would then at the first class I realized the next 5 races were included in the price so Jack had his first race tonight! He did great! He placed 4th out of 5, which I was excited about because I was afraid he would be way behind everyone cause he's never in a hurry for anything! 🤣🤣
Kaleb had a great night with another 1st place win!
