Of course Josh cut down more trees this year. It was a slow year for him he only cut 4 down.
We took the wallpaper off of the walls in the boys room and painted the ceiling, walls, and put up a new ceiling fan. I always have a hard time choosing paint colors which results in lots of samples on the wall. I ended up going with light french gray. It's crazy how much better a little paint can make a room! We also sold their furniture and moved the bunk beds from upstairs into their room because Jack was too big for the twin. He wasn't happy that the bigger bed was on the bottom but Kaleb is so excited to finally get the top bunk :)
Next we started on the master Bedroom closet. We've always thought our bedroom was too big and had a lot of wasted space so we decided to take half of the bedroom and turn it into a walk in closet and make our current walk in closet into a hobby room for me to do crafts and Josh to build guns. This is the biggest project that we have done on our own! It took several months because Josh was in and out with work. The first part was moving everything out of the bedroom space so he could lay new playwood and get ready for the carpet we were going to put in there. Of course he had his two big helpers.
Next he had to build the new walls to make the closet.
Next the drywall started going up!
We then took a break from the closet so Josh could fix floor that they had temporarily repaired when we moved in. He did a really good job!
Now it was my turn.
New Carpet!!!
In November I went to WV for my nephew's wedding and Josh installed the closets making this project compete!
Josh also built us another laundry station like he did in Colorado :)
While we were in the process of doing the closet we started on the hobby room. We had to make a doorway into the old closet so we could access it then First tear all the hanger rods and shelves off the wall and decided to make a walk in closet in there too. Just not as big as ours.
Safety First!
This is the closet when we started
This was as far as we got because Josh had to deploy again so we will finish it next spring.
Our outside projects this year consisted of tearing down the old privacy fence out back and adding a little white picket fence out front.
Josh cleaned out the side yard and built me more garden boxes so we can separate our plants next year :)
I made a few more flower beds and planted shasta daisies in front of the garage. My flower bed at the bottom of the front yard did wonderful and the lillies loved their new home around the mailbox.
All the plants that I moved in the spring survived and did amazing!!!! Now we just need to see if they come back next year 😉
