I bet this isn't what Josh had in mind when he bought the Mustang :)

Josh's day in LA

When I would ask Josh what he wanted to do in LA all he would say is "see the hollywood sign" well he did.

I really enjoyed our day in the city. I showed him all my favorite places then we drove to the Temple and walked around and went in the visitors center then we drove to Santa Monica and went to the 3rd street promenade and had some really yummy new york style pizza haha Then we brought Sunset blvd home. I love that drive. Then we came home and swam

Our little water bug

After our fun day my cousin made an amazing Mexican dinner and we ate and hung out. I was so happy Josh got to meet this side of my family because I love them so much and they were such a big part of my life.

The Daybreak

This was the boat that Josh's team was training on so one day we got to go out with them.

Jack wasn't impressed at first

but then he got to drive

He also loved watching the guys work.

Then he got to ride the Zodiac back to the dock

Kaleb enjoyed the whole day :)

A week with Family

After we left Josh we drove to Temecula and spent the week with Tyson and Carrie. It was so fun to be with family and I loved watching all the kids play together! I guess we were having so much fun I didn't take a lot of pictures but here are a few.

One day I couldn't find Jack then I looked outside and found him on the Tramp. He had so much fun. I guess we are going to have to get one.

About mid week Carrie got the big train track out and let me tell ya Jack was in heaven

Until he realized Taylee was playing with the little one haha

But then he was okay again when everyone started playing

A Day with Daddy

On Sunday Josh called and said he had the day off so we loaded up the car and went to Camp Pendleton and spent the day at the beach with him. This was Kaleb's first time seeing the ocean. He loves it just like his mommy :)

Jack, not so much

A Vist from some very special friends :)

Saturday Paula and Izzy drove down from Monterey to see us. The last time I had seen them was the day we moved to Germany. Of course Paula was there when we were sealed in the Temple :) I can't believe it had been almost four years. I was sad that she didn't get to bring her other two kids so I could meet them but I was so excited to see her and Izzy. I was also excited that she got to meet my boys.

Izzy loves trains too so we took them to the train park. they were so cute playing with each other. After the train park we went to the play park then back to the house and ordered my favorite Italian food and had a great dinner and hung out. It was such a great day!

Relaxing at the house

This is my cousins guest house where we stayed.

I think Jack was comfortable haha

In the evenings we would just hang by the pool.

The the boys would go to the fountain and play in the water :)

Jack had fun playing but he didn't not like the aftermath haha

Back to our trip

The whole time I lived in CA one of my favorite things to do was lay by the pool :) I loved to look up at the Griffith Park Observatory but they closed it right before my first trip there in 2001 for renovations and they didn't open it until fall 2006 and I moved in Aug 2006 so I never got to go up there.

I finally made it :) We went inside but with two kids I couldn't go into any of the shows. Maybe next time.

I always thought the best view of the hollywood sign was from Maholland Dr. but I was wrong

I had also never been in Griffith Park even though I lived right by it. I guess it's because I didn't have kids but there are so many things for kids to do. I took Jack to the train park everyday we were there. He loved it.

The bad thing was the park closed at 4 and we didn't get there until 3:45 so he was not happy when we had to leave. Jack is 2 1/2 years old and this is the first time he ever fought me on getting in his carseat. haha

It was okay though cause we stopped at another park and there was a train there he could drive :)

Fiber Gummies

I forgot to mention the most interesting part of the drive to California. Jack gets constipated when we travel so I started giving him one fiber gummy a day when we are on the road so he doesn't get stopped up. Well, the second day of our trip I found him in the corner of the hotel room with the bottle open and I have no idea how many he ate. He just looked up at me with a big smile and said look mom "Gems" that's what he calls vitamins haha We weren't in a hurry to get on the road because I didn't want to hit traffic in CA so we stopped at McDonalds for breakfast and let the kids play in the gym for a while and i'm soooo glad we did because 45 min later Jack pooped and when I got him in the bathroom to change him it was EVERYWHERE and of course I ran out of wipes so I had to keep running to the sink and wetting paper towels to get him clean. It took me about 20 min to get him good enough to go out of the bathroom so I could go to the car and get new clothes. Then 20 min after he was all clean he did it again and this time it was pure water. All I can say is the fiber gummies WORK!
